Imphal, June 05 2026: Dachhbanta Samom, Director Lok Sabha, Parliament of India, has been given a time scale promotion to the level of Joint Secretary (Pay Matrix level 14) with effect from May 10, 2026 .

He joined the Lok Sabha as an Executive Officer in 1998 .

Earlier, he worked as a journalist with the Directorate of Information and Public Relations (DIPR), Government of Manipur.

Samom did his BA Hon and MA LLB from Delhi University.

He underwent training in Parliamentary Administration from the Royal Institute of Parliamentary Administration (RIPA), London.

He was also in the European Parliament for a brief period for a capacity building programme.
