Lay off : NSCN (IM) to Kuki villages

Claiming that Kachouphung Kuki village and Gampal Kuki village come under Tang-khul areas, the NSCN (IM) has issued directive to the two villages to obtain legal permission from Kachou-phung Tangkhul village to utilise land, water and forest which are in Tangkhul areas.
In a statement signed by its central administrative officer of Wung Tangkhul Region (WTR), the NSCN (IM) said that Kachouphung Tangkhul village and Ka-shung village share an inter- village boundary at Lusakong.
Saying that Kachouphung Kuki village and Gampal Kuki village were set up at the land of former Kachouphung Tangkhul village chief Late Hepho and the same can be verified from the agreement signed by representatives of 16 neighbouring villages of Kachouphung Tangkhul village on October 7, 1958, the outfit added that another inter-village boundary agreement was signed by headman of Kashung village and chief of D Gampal on January 16, 2015 but the same was illegitimate and a sell out of Naga ancestral land.
Urging Kachouphung Kuki village and Gampal Kuki village to obtain legal permission from Kachou-phung Tangkhul village to utilise land, water and forest which are in Tangkhul areas, the NSCN (IM) cautioned that non-compliance of their directive will invite serious action.
