Sharing a brief account of the matter involving Ibomcha and the outfit, the Koireng led UNLF said that their standing committee came to know that one of its cadres active in the valley districts was involved in the incident on the fateful day itself.

It also said that the cadre along with some volunteers summoned Ibomcha to resolve a family problem on June 18 after his son (of the first wife) lodged a complaint against him.
As per his son, Ibomcha didn't look after him for a long time after he (Ibomcha) married the Kuki woman, the outfit said and added that Ibomcha gave a plot of land to his son so that they could live together sometime back.
The outfit claimed that the person (son of Ibomcha), however, was kicked out from his father's place after he started building his house by taking a loan from a bank.
As per the complainant, the loan was taken for treatment of his daughter who has a congenital disease, said the outfit and added that the son of Ibomcha approached the outfit after he was allegedly kicked out to act as an arbitrator and resolve the family issue.
It has been found that Ibomcha was also put under suspension while he was AS & SO at the Settlement Department for selling a vast plot of land to AR at Moreh, it claimed.

Claiming that Ibomcha was beaten on his hands and legs only once by some people who were guarding him for disclosing the place where he was kept at to a woman, the outfit alleged that there wasn't any other case of assaulting Ibomcha other than the one mentioned above.
Alleging that Ibomcha, unfortunately, died on June 28 after a BP stroke, the outfit admitted that not looking after the health condition of Ibomcha was a big mistake on their part.
It also said that the cadre who was assigned to handle the issue has admitted his mistake.
Saying that the outfit takes all responsibility for the wrong its cadre had done, the outfit admitted that they, indeed, have done a big mistake by letting Ibomcha die in their custody.
The outfit went on to state that they took some time in issuing the clarification as some electronic media reported that Ibomcha was shot dead and the allegation needs verification.
Claiming that there weren't any bullet wounds on Ibomcha when he was found dead nor was he killed, the outfit reiterated that the person died of hypertension.
Saying that the outfit will investigate the matter furthermore and penalise the wrongdoers, if any, the Koireng led UNLF appealed to all the people, especially of Khangabok to forgive them for the big mistake they had done.
