Muivah, Isak Swu to head back to Delhi

Dimapur, November 02 2012: NSCN-IM leaders Isak Chisi Swu and Thuingaleng Muivah are leaving Camp Hebron (off Dimapur) on November 6 for New Delhi to resume series of talks with the Government of India.

After having consulted the Naga civil bodies including the Naga Hoho and the United Naga Council (UNC), the two NSCN-IM leaders are all set for the Delhi date with the Central leaders.

A source said the NSCN-IM leaders were supposed to leave on November 3 but due to 'certain assignments' they had to postpon their journey back to Delhi to November 6 for the talks.

Almost all the civil societies including tribe based organisations have been met by the two NSCN-IM leaders.

Swu and Muivah arrived in Dimapur on October 18 after the 'crucial meetings' with the Central leaders in New Delhi on the Naga political talks.

Thuingaleng Muivah upon his arrival to Nagaland has been repeatedly saying that the would-be Naga settlement is going to be based on the 'unique Naga history.' He had also said that the 'ball is now in the court of the government of India.' Muivah had also stated that 'something good' is going to come out soon.

However, Muivah refused to disclose when the likely time the agreement will be inked with New Delhi.

Muivah had also refuted the media reports that 'the NSCN-IM had accepted" the Constitution of India.

Union home minister Sushil Kumar Shinde had said recently that by March next year the vexed Naga political problem will be settled, the time when the assembly election to the Nagaland state is due.
