KAI Fashion Weekend winds up Platform created to boost local products

Imphal, August 02 2026:
The 3-day KAI Fashion Weekend, which began on July 31, concluded on Sunday at the City Convention Centre, Palace Gate, Imphal, with a showcase of Manipur's creativity and handloom heritage.
Keishamthong AC MLA Nishikant Singh Sapam attended the event.
On the final day, leading labels including Ralui Karles Pwanpui, Ana & Niv G Lansin, Wangkhei Phee Mantri, and Basan Charei Namkhang presented their latest collections, drawing strong audience response.
Speaking at the closing, KAI Fashion Weekend Director Sailex Ngairangbam said staging a fashion show in the State amid the current situation is "a matter of pride" .

"The objective is to promote local talent and give our designers and models a professional platform", he said.
He informed that 24 designers and 48 models participated in the event.
Notably, 10 make-up artists from Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps were also given an opportunity to be part of the weekend.
Sailex added that KAI Fashion Weekend aims to boost the State's handloom and textile products by providing local producers and designers a direct platform to showcase new apparel and access marketing opportunities.
