On achieving Visharad-II in Hindustani Classical Music (Vocal) from the Bhatkhande Sangeet Vidyapeeth, Lucknow in first division, a 12 year old boy from Manipur has claimed for inclusion of his name in the Guiness Book of World Records.
Soraisam Leninjit (Lenin) son of S Joychandra and Radhapiyari of Sagolband Loukham Leirak started learning music since the tender age of seven.
He passed Visharad-II from Bhatkhande Sangeet Vidyapeeth, Lucknow in first division recently.
Even matured people found it hard to pass Visharad-II after learning for 4/5 years.
But Leninjit attained the degree without any difficulty.
Earlier, Leninjit had passed Prathama, Madhyama and Visharad-I courses in flying colours (first division).
Once when Lenin cried in infanthood, his grandfather late Parijat remarked that his grandson should learn music (vocal).
In accordance to the wish of his grandfather, Lenin was sent to music school, conveyed his father Joychandra.
Soon after he learned speaking, he started murmuring songs, the father said.
Taking note of his deep-rooted interest in music, he was sent to different music teachers.
Lenin besides winning several prizes in State-level music competitions has also performed in concerts.
On attaining Visharad-II as such a young age, a claim has been forwarded for inclusion of his feat in the Guiness Book of World Records.
