Imphal, April 01:
IGP of CRPF, Manipur and Nagaland Sector PM Goud has stated that all the CRPF personnel posted in Manipur would be made to undergo HIV/AIDS testing.
Announcing this while talking to mediapersons on the sideline of a blood donation camp organised to celebrate 14th Raising Day of 128 CRPF at Mongshangei today, Goud said HIV/AIDS testing would be conducted on all CRPF personnel deployed in Manipur.
Goud, who was the former IG (Prisons) of Manipur Police, however, noted that personnel might face some problems in coming out openly and voluntarily to undergo the test.
The testing would be conducted in collaboration with RIMS and other NGOs working in the field and report of the test would be kept confidential, he said, adding that necessary measures to be taken up in this connection would be done from the side of the CRPF.
The officer further informed that a plan has been prepared to redress inconveniences faced by CRPF personnel posted in remote areas in booking train tickets.
It would ensure confirmed reservation train tickets to all the personnel who needed them, he added.
Medical Superintendent of RIMS Prof Y Mohen was also present during the inaugural function of the blood donation camp.
