Imphal, November 30 2024: A mega public rally has been lined up on December 10 on the key issues of Manipur's integrity, repeal of AFSPA and acts of terrorism.

The rally is being organised by AMUCO, COHR, MSF, AMAWOVA and Poirei Leimarol Meira Paibi Apunba Manipur.

Speaking to media persons on behalf of the five organisations at the Kwakeithel office of AMUCO today, Phulindro Konsam categorically stated that temporary lifting and reimposition of AFSPA is unacceptable.

A large number of people have been killed in Manipur with the impunity guaranteed by the draconian Act (AFSPA).

The mega rally planned on December 10 will raise a collective voice demanding complete repeal of AFSPA from all over Manipur, he said.

Saying that the rally is aimed at protecting Manipur and the future generations, Phulindro appealed to all sections of people to join the rally.

He also vehemently condemned the acts of terrorism unleashed by Kuki militants who have murdered innocent women and even babies in the most barbaric manner.

Another slogan of the proposed rally is putting an end to all acts of terrorism and the proxy war being waged by the Government of India, he said.

Ahead of the proposed mega rally, an academic discourse programme will be held at Manipur University on the internationally guaranteed rights of the people, Phulindro said.

The academic discourse will be participated by many resource persons and the resolutions adopted there will be sent to the Prime Minister of India and the UN Human Rights Council.

Representatives of AMUCO, COHR, Poirei Leimarol Meira Paibi Apunba Manipur, AMAWOVA and MSF were also present at the press meet.
