Sit-in protests UCM office bomb attacks

Condemning the twin bomb attacks at the office of United Committee Manipur (UCM) in Lamphelpat, here, on Thursday night, UCM along with allied organisations organised a sit-in protest in front of the Committee's office on Friday.
Speaking on the sidelines, newly appointed UCM president YK Dhiren strongly condemned the attacks, while recounting that the Committee's office had also faced an arson attack in the past.
He then urged all concerned not to repeat such acts in the future, while demanding the person(s) responsible to clarify the reason behind the attacks.
Such attacks are highly demotivating for all those working for the welfare of the state, he remarked, and urged the government to investigate the matter thoroughly.
On the other hand, new office bearers of UCM for 2024-27 were appointed on Friday, a press release informed.
As per the release, the regular general assembly of UCM was held on Friday with outgoing president Konthoujam Joychandra in the chair.
During the assembly, 25 new office bearers of UCM for 2024-27 were appointed with YK Dhiren (UPF) as president, Khuraijam Athouba (IPSA) as vice president, Shanta Nahakpam (Acoam lup) as general secretary, Dipanjit Ningthoujam (NIPCO) as secretary organisation, S Brojen Singh (PANDM) as secretary finance, Soibam Anil (UPF) as secretary Information & Public Relations and I Bimola (Kanglamei) as Women Affairs secretary, the release conveyed.
