MDA extends monetary aid

Imphal, July 30 2024: Manipur Drivers' Association (MDA) has extended monetary assistance to driver Laimayum Pilot (36) who is currently awaiting .an operation at JNIMS Hospital due to an illness.

Laimayum Pilot hails from Moirang Ngangkhalawai in Bishnupur district and is the son of Laimayum Angousana.

A team of MDA visited the ailing driver at JNIMS Male Surgery Ward and handed over the money.

The MDA team included Saikhom Babudhon, president; Ganga Singh, advisor; Sanjoy Ksh, general secretary; Khundongbam Sangitcharan, assistant general secretary and other members of MDA.

Speaking on the occasion, Sanjoy Ksh shared that L Pilot has been working as a driver for more than 15 years.

He became ill when the conflict began and drivers went without any work due to the restive situation.

He has since been unable to return to his driving job owing to his poor health condition, said Sanjoy.

He added that MDA will provide additional help at the time of Pilot's surgery.

Meanwhile, Laimayum Pilot's family has extended gratitude to MDA for their kind gesture.
