Imphal, March 29 2026: Preparations for the upcoming 8th Manipur State Level Hun-Thadou Cultural Festival, 2026, are in full swing for a successful celebration scheduled for April 7, in Imphal.

The festival, initiated in 2016 following a resolution of the Thadou Conclave, Delhi 2015, is observed annually on April 7.as a symbol of cultural unity and identity for Thadou people globally.

Since 2023, it has been officially recognized as a Restricted State Holiday by the Government of Manipur.

This year's event holds special significance amid recent developments in Manipur, with encouraging peace-building efforts fostering renewed understanding and reconciliation between Thadou leadership and Meitei civil society groups.
