The UNLF statement further said that a team of UNLF rushed to the incident site immediately after getting news that UNFL members thrashed the driver.
The team conducted an investigation but no member of the outfit was found at the spot.
When the CCTV footage was checked, the two assaulters were unknown to the party but investigation to identify them has been initiated and under process.
The team also met Mairenmai and talked about the incident.
While maintaining that the outfit has long been working for equal sustenance and equal development of all indigenous Communities of Manipur, the UNLF statement said that the Sekmai incident was an attempt to create enmity among indigenous communities and the outfit takes the incident very seriously.
