Imphal, April 26 2026:
The Thougei Pangei Yangdong (TPY), has condemned the continuing violence in Manipur and called for a united movement by civil society organisations.
In a press statement issued today, TPY expressed deep concern over the state of affairs that has persisted since May 3, 2023.It criticized the Government for its perceived inaction, saying authorities remain asleep while the State faces crisis.
TPY condemned the April 7 bomb attack in Tronglaobi Awang Leikai that killed two toddlers in their sleep, and the alleged CRPF firing that killed three protesters.
It also denounced the ambush that killed two members of the Tangkhul community, asking when the bloodshed would end.
"Instead of different CSOs organising separate strikes and rallies on different days, all CSOs in the land must come together and build a single, unified movement for the people", the statement said.
TPY demanded immediate legal action and punishment for those involved in the killings and a halt to attacks on indigenous communities.
TYP further warned that if the voice of the people is ignored, public agitation will be unstoppable.
