AMGSU extends aid to displaced Gorkha students

Kanglatongbi, March 26 2026:
The All Manipur Gorkha Students' Union has extended financial assistance to six Gorkha students who were forced to leave Litan after their rented houses were allegedly burnt by unidentified miscreants.
The students, currently facing hardships due to their displacement, were provided cash support to help meet their academic and daily needs.
The Union stated that education should not be disrupted under any circumstances and emphasised the importance of supporting deserving students so they can continue their studies with dignity and confidence.
Expressing concern over the situation of displaced students, AMGSU assured that it will continue to work for the welfare, upliftment and educational support of the Gorkha community.
The Union also appreciated Divine Nestelen School, Kanglatongbi for extending free education to the affected students during this challenging period.
The financial assistance was handed over to the students at Tispari, Kanglatongbi, in the presence of ward member Dilip Karki, members of Roshan Youth Club, local villagers, and the AMGSU Central Committee president along with his team.
