Imphal, November 25 2010: Demand for disclosure of whereabouts of UNLF chairman RK Meghen aka Sanayaima picking up as government is still remaining silent on the matter even as nearly two months of reported arrest of him in Dhaka on September 29 .

Students of various schools in Imphal stayed out of their classes and joined in carrying out demonstration on the same demand which was earlier staged only by womenfolk in their respective localities and villages.

Whereabouts of RK Meghan, leader of outlaw United National Liberation Front (UNLF) remained in dark after he was reportedly arrested from Dhaka by a combined team of RAW and its Bangladesh counterpart in the last week of September.

Extending support to the demand of the family of the chairman, many social organisations, particularly women bodies are carrying out sit-in protest in their respective areas showing solidarity to the family of Meghen to pressing the Central government to disclose his whereabouts.

Today also the same demonstration was carried out at as many as 10 places across the four valley districts.

In one of the demonstrations staged at Wangkhei Keithel Ashangbi, over 200 women of the locality attended.

Students of a dozen schools in Imphal area today boycotted classes of the day and joined in the demonstration demanding disclosure of whereabouts of the leader of the outlaw organisations.

While taking part in the demonstration, they demanded to solve India-Manipur conflict through political dialogue.

More schools are likely to join the protest against Central government mum on the matter in the coming days as state level students' bodies are reportedly mobilizing schools to join the demonstration.

Police on getting reliable information of All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU), Democratic Students Alliance of Manipur (DESAM), Manipuri Students Federation (MSF) are behind the campaign has asked police stations and outpost for keeping a close vigilant on the activities of these students' body.

On the other hand, Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh who is camping in New Delhi since last weekend called on with the Union Home Minister P Chidambaram Wednesday evening and reportedly held consultation on the matter with reference to the mounting people's pressure.

What reply has been given to Chief Minister's pressure could not be culled out here but sources said that Ibobi is scheduled to meet with UPA chairperson, Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh later this evening.
