Koireng-led UNLF clarifies on capital punishment to Johnson

Imphal, January 25 2025:
The proscribed Koireng-led United National Liberation Front (UNLF) declared that Hemam Johnson alias Mani, son of H Biren and H (0) Pramabati of Moirang Khoiru Leikai but resided at a rented house at Moirang Ngangkha Lawai, was given capital punishment for his extremely immoral and inhumane act and character of outraging modesty of his own younger sister.
According to a UNLF statement issued by publicity secretary M Shak-Hen, Special Task Force of UNLF/MPA launched an investigation upon getting a tip-off that Hemam Johnson have illicit affair with an immoral young woman named Priya from Thoubal district and also outraged modesty of his own younger sister to the extent of giving birth to a child.
Accordingly, Hemam Johnson was picked up from an area in Imphal around a week back and kept in the custody of the organisation for thorough questioning.
Initially, Johnson tried to conceal his guilt and disclosed about his illicit affair with the young married but separated immoral woman Priya.
Johnson even told the Special Task Force that Priya used to shift her rented room frequently and aborted 3/4 times, the statement said adding that Priya have knowledge of Johnson's extremely immoral and inhumane act against his own younger sister.
As the intense questioning continued, Special Task Force came to know that Johnson outraged modesty of his own younger sister since the year 2019 and even made her pregnant twice after Johnson confessed to committing the extremely dishonour and inhumane act against his own sister.
As such, the organisation after deliberate discussion decided to award capital punishment to Johnson to show and teach a lesson that his extremely immoral character is unacceptable to the society, the UNLF statement added.
While reminding to the people that UNLF has been awarding capital punishment to anyone found outraging modesty of women since the year 1990 and Johnson's case is not the first one, the UNLF said the organisation will continue to award punishment against anyone who challenge women.
The UNLF statement further said that all the aspects of the society in Manipur have degraded due to the prolonged suppressive rule of India while the war being waged by armed Kukis since May 3, 2023 have not only made the land lawless and destroyed economy but also extremely lowered social-morality.
Amidst this situation, those in the administration and lawmakers bowed down to their colonial masters merely to save their posts while sidelining extremely deteriorating situation of the land, the UNLF statement added.
