CBC, Imphal launches Hindi Saptaha

The Regional Office of Central Bureau of Communications, Imphal, under Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, on Tuesday launched the Hindi Saptaha (week) aimed at promoting the use of Hindi as an official language.
The programme which will feature various activities and competitions, was inaugurated with Manipur Hindi Parishad, Imphal general secretary Dr Aribam Brajakumar Sharma as chief guest.
In his address, Brajakumar underscored the importance of promoting Hindi as a unifying language in India, a country known for its diversity.
He stressed the need for all government offices to enhance their usage of Hindi and adhere to the mandates of the Official Languages Act of 1963 .
The general secretary also commended the Regional Office Imphal for organising Hindi Saptaha, and contributing to the nationwide efforts in fostering linguistic pride.
The event opened with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, followed by a cultural programme showcasing the rich linguistic and cultural diversity of India, focussing on Hindi literature, poetry, and music.
As part of the week-long celebrations, the bureau has planned a variety of activities, including essay writing, poetry recitation, debates, and quizzes, all conducted in Hindi.
These events aim to enhance the use of Hindi in day-to-day communications and motivate the younger generation to appreciate and adopt the language in both formal and informal settings.
Guest of honour M Rustum Singh (FEO, Chandel) highlighted the importance of Hindi in communicating particularly outside state of Manipur.
Recognising the language's importance, he encouraged daily practice of spoken Hindi.
The inaugural day concluded with a vote of thanks from Dr N Reena (head of office, Central Bureau of Communications, Imphal).
Hindi Saptaha is set to be an inspiring week of linguistic celebration, reinforcing the value of Hindi as a key component of India's cultural and administrative heritage.
