Senapati, April 24 2018:
The apex
students' body Senapati District
Students' Association (SDSA)
in press release has said that it
has endorsed the call for
appointment of a native senior
IAS officer for the post of Chief
Secretary.
The statement signed by
SDSA president Kaikho
Hopeson Mao stated that,
while supporting the historic
joint declaration made by stu-
dents' organisations of the
hills and the valley of Manipur
namely ATSUM, DESAM
and AIMS on April 17 with
the slogan 'Chief Secretary by
the native, the Senapati Dis-
trict Students' Association
(SDSA), the apex students
body in the Senapati District
do hereby extend our support
and reiterate our stand that the
native and senior IAS Officer
in the State cadre should be
appointed to the vacant top bu-
reaucrat post of Chief
Secretary, Manipur State in the
large interest of the communi-
ties in the State.
The endorsement for native
CS post by SDSA has come
in as a major boost to the joint
movement of both hill and
valley students bodies.
AMSU
on monday had also strongly
batted for appointment of local
as CS.
The SDSA strongly be-
lieves that fulfillment of this
demand will bridge the gap
between the hills and valley,
said the statement.
