Imphal, February 24 2026: The School Management Committee (SCM) of Khurai Heikrumakhong Junior High School has opposed any impediments/obstruction regarding infrastructural upgradation work at the school.

According to the SCM convenor Samim, Khurai Konsam Leikai Meira Paibi and Club allegedly obstructed their inspection visit at the school for the construction of two girls' toilets yesterday.

Speaking to the media at Khurai Heikrumakhong, Samim said members of the SCM were stopped from entering the school premises and told to build the toilets somewhere else.

Terming it an unfortunate event, she also accused a local man identified as Ningombam Sunanta of attempting to physically assault them and another meira paibi Laishram Thambalsana of using foul language.

As such, a complaint has been filed against the duo at Porompat police station, she maintained.

Accusing both the Club and Meira Paibi of Khurai Konsam Leikai of issuing threats against her today, she strongly condemned the alleged act of intimidation.

Citing the earlier controversy surrounding the construction of two classrooms of the School which hindered the academic career of the students, she made an appeal to all to stop posing any obstructions to derail infrastructural upgradation of the school.

She also urged the concerned authorities to look into the matter.
