Imphal, September 23 2025: A fast track special Court has convicted one 70-year-old, Ningthoujam Chaoba under Section 18 of POCSO Act for sexual assault of a minor girl in December 2019 .

The Court of Judge RK Memcha has fixed tomorrow for sentence hearing.

Ningthoujam Chaoba hails from Laphupat Tera Khunou Khordak Awang, under Mayang Imphal police station.

He was accused of sexually assaulting a minor on December 10, 2019.He was arrested and sent to judicial custody after the mother of the victim filed a complaint with the Women police station Imphal.

Investigating Officer of the case, Sub Inspector Chanuleima Pangeijam had submitted the chargesheet against the convict for trial.

In order to prove the charges against the convict, the Prosecution produced 9 witnesses, and other material evidence.
