Imphal, July 23 2025: An international conference on "Population Education" was conducted today at Classic Hotel, North AOC, Imphal.

The conference was organised by the Directorate of Regional Indian Languages & Research (DRILR), Manipur International University in collaboration with Apunba Ireipakki Maheiroi Sinpanglup (AIMS) .

The conference was graced by dignitaries, including Dr Chanam Manglem Singh, former Head of Department (Obstetrics & Gynecology), RIMS; Dr Thokchom Ronbindro Singh, Professor & Deputy Director, Education Extension, Central Agricultural University (CAU); Dr Nabakanta Sharma Choudhurimayum, Member, Manipur State Pollution Commission; Longjam Thonglen Meitei, president, AIMS; and Dr Thokchom Chandramani Singh, Professor & Dean, DRILR, Manipur International University.

As part of the event, the "Prof Dr R Subbakrishna Memorial Journalist Award 2025" was presented to Urikhimbam Indraraj, senior reporter of ISTV; and the "Prof Dr R Subbakrishna Memorial Lifetime Achievement Award" was given to Jeet Ningombam, chief editor of Elite TV .
