RPI blames drug cartels, Kuki militants for violence

Imphal, May 23 2023: The violence in the state is not between the Meiteis and the Kukis but violence orchestrated by the illegal immigrants, drug car-tels and Kuki militants under SoO, exclaimed Republican Party of India (Athawale) national general secretary Maheshwar Thounaojam.

Addressing media per-sons in New Delhi organised jointly by RPI (Athawale), Mahadev Sena, Social Jus-tice Foundation, Helping Hand Foundation and var-ious other organisations on Monday, Maheshwar said that the situation in Manipur is very tense and an enquiry needs to be conducted to find out the true cause of the violence.

He also pointed out the need to abrogate the sus-pension of operation signed between the state and central government along with the Kuki underground militants, immediate implementation of NRC and proper fencing of the Indo- Myanmar border.

Mahadev Sena president Pankaj Nanda stressed on the need for the government to bring peace in Manipur.

A committee to solve the prob-lems faced by the people of the state should be consti-tuted, he said.
