Phoudel-Keiranbi Bridge to be completed within 2 yrs: Ratankr

Imphal, May 19 2014 :
Works Minister Dr Kh Ratankumar and officials of State Public Works Department (PWD) today inspected the sites of several under construction and to be constructed bridges in Imphal West and Thoubal districts.
Talking to media persons on the sidelines of the inspection programme, Works Minister Dr Ratankumar said that an RCC bridge would be constructed at Phoudel-Keiranbi in place of the present small suspension bridge.
The bridge would be constructed within two years for an estimated cost of Rs.8 crore under the Special Plan Assistance.
Dr Ratankumar further said that the coming of new NDA Government at the Centre would not affect development works in the State.
The State would surely get its share of funds and assistances from the Centre regardless of the party or alliance in power.
Some of the developmental works covered by the Minister during his whirlpool inspection visit including Lamphel Sanakeithel road, Heingang Bridge, Minuthong Bridge,Thoubal Keiranbi Bridge, Phoudel Keiranbi Bridge, Siphai Leikai Bridge, Toubul Bridge and Shantipur Shamushang Bridge.
Parliamentary Secy in-charge of IPR Meghachandra, SE, EE and AE of PWD were also part of the inspection team.
