Governor, first lady admire state orchidarium

Imphal, April 19 2025:
Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla, accompanied by first lady Jyoti Bhalla, visited State Orchidarium, Khonghampat maintained by State Forest Department on Saturday.
The Governor and first lady were received by PCCF & HoFF Anurag Bajpai and other senior officers of the department.
During the visit, Governor and first lady launched the plantation activity of the season by planting Heirangoi (Garcinia spp.), a wild fruit having high food, ecological and cultural value.

Later, Governor visited the Orchid Display House, traversed through trek route witnessing flowering of rare and endangered orchids and inspected the Ground Orchid Plots.
Governor and first lady also witnessed the film produced by the Forest Department on "Orchids of Manipur" and also a film on rejuvenation of dried natural spring in Langol Reserved Forest for population of Kameng village, by Central Forest Division, Imphal.
He appreciated the efforts and advised the department to replicate the efforts throughout the state.
