Imphal, August 18 2024:
The proscribed Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL) observed Martyrs' Day on Sunday in memory of its cadres who sacrificed their lives for the nationalist-revolutionary struggle of the people of Kangleipak (Manipur) .
Informing that observance of the day to offer befitting tributes to the martyrs had been a tradition of the outfit since the past many years, a KYKL statement said that the commemorative event this year was observed at battalion CHQ, units, transit camps and different locations inside and outside Kangleipak (Manipur).
The main function of Martyrs' Day was held at the central headquarters in the presence of top KYKL leaders who offered condolence salute to the departed souls apart from offering floral tributes to the brave-hearts, the statement conveyed.
KYKL also recalled efforts and contributions of the valiant men and women warriors towards intensification of the armed movement for restoration of sovereign Kangleipak and acknowledged sacrificial spirit of the 'warriors' that instilled a sense of patriotism and valour among the younger 'Kanglei' generation.
According to the statement issued by KYKL's publicity and research secretary A Yaiphaba, all the Kanglei people, on the occasion, should remember that sacrifices made by the martyrs continue to fuel the revolutionary movement along with making the masses conscious about political and revolutionary objective.
All the elders who had given up their lives for the cause of revolution were well aware about 'our friends and foes'.
Through their unwavering struggle and indomitable spirit, they managed to hand over the baton of revolutionary nationalism to the younger generation to this day.
However, the stark and unfortunate reality we face today is there are many who are taking advantage of Kanglei nationalism for their selfish ends and many others who are agents of imperialist India.
These elements are now hell bent on diverting the primary agenda of a nationalist revolution consequently churning phenomena where many armed lumpen elements project themselves as the only living patriots.
Many youths have been misguided to follow them through the false indoctrination that those possessing guns are the true patriots.
These elements and their followers are guided by the false idea of nationalism and they can never come close to the correct conception of Kanglei nationalism as envisioned by our martyrs who had made supreme sacrifice.
These misguided elements are exhibiting their guns to the common people and coerce them to believe that that are true patriots.
They do not possess the courage to truly make the sacrifice for the cause of Kanglei nationalist struggle.
Currently, Kangleipak has fallen neck deep in a whirlpool of pretence led by increasing number of characters who have been engulfed by false consciousness.
This trend is fraught with danger.
However, this is also a chance for all the Kanglei people (Kangleichas) to realise that these pretenders with false nationalism are the ones who will never state that imperialist India is our primary adversary.
These pretenders will eventually work overtime to not only root out but also erase the true colours of Kanglei nationalism.
This is why, it is of utmost importance that the people should not be swayed by the wave of false nationalism but Stay steadfast with revolutionary consciousness, elaborated the armed outfit.
The KYKL statement further said that Kanglei people shall strive to fend for themselves against false nationalism otherwise we will all be eventually swallowed by the wide-open jaws of Indian imperialism leading to ultimate extinction.
