Imphal, May 18 2026:
As hundreds of trucks continue to be stranded along the NH-2, volunteers of Manipur Drivers Association (MDA) provided essential relief items to the drivers at Kanglatongbi and Sekmai today.
Rice, lentils, cooking oil, water and vegetables were distributed to the drivers who have been stranded for five days now.
Speaking in this connection, Khundongbam Sangeetchoron, assistant secretary, MDA, sought Government intervention to rectify the situation.
Expressing concern, he noted that the contents of the goods trucks coming from other States, such as potatoes and onions, are starting to go bad.
The stranded vehicles also include trucks leaving Manipur for other States.
