Imphal, July 16 2024:
In light of disruption caused to the academic calendar of Dhanamanjuri University (DMU), Higher and Technical Education commissioner H Gyan Prakash has formally written a letter addressed to the vice-chancellor of Manipur University outlining the academic challenges faced by DMU due to a series of unfortunate incidents and natural disasters, and requesting provisional admissions for affected students.
The letter said that DMU's academic calendar has been significantly disrupted, resulting in delays to the undergraduate examinations.
The situation was exacerbated by the University's closure on two separate occasions due to severe flooding consequently causing delay to the process for declaration of final examination results.
The University has now notified that the results will be declared by the third week of August 2024 .
The letter highlighted that many students from DMU have successfully cleared the CUET examination and are eager to pursue postgraduate studies.
Additionally, he noted the possibility of available seats in postgraduate courses even after accommodating students who have already received their final results.
In his letter, the commissioner urged Manipur University to consider granting provisional admissions to students from DMU, who have cleared the CUET as well as those who have not.
He requested that these students be allowed to join postgraduate courses on a provisional basis, pending the issuance of their final certificates and marksheets in August 2024 .
