Governor, CM others greet on Id-Ul-Zuha

Governor Anusuiya Uikey extended warm greetings and good wishes to the people of Manipur especially to Muslim brethren on the auspicious occasion of Id-Ul-Zuha.
In her message, Governor Anusuiya stated that Id-Ul-Zuha signifies the spirit of sacrifice rising above the narrow barriers of one's ego and self-interest for the good of all.
"On this sacred occasion, let us forget our differences and usher in an era of peace and harmony in Manipur," she said.
Meanwhile, chief minister N Biren in his message stated that Id-ul-Zuha commemorates the supreme sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim for the sake of mankind and his devotion to Allah.
He wished the people of Manipur, especially Muslim brethren, on the auspicious occasion.
Pointing out that the state is facing divisive forces bent upon destroying integrity and age-old fabric of harmonious living, he said that Id-ul-Zuha signifies the spirit of sacrifice rising above the narrow barriers of one's ego and self-interest and holds special relevance today.
"May the festival of Id-ul-Zuha help in uniting the people of the state and in promoting the spirit of common brotherhood for a peaceful Manipur," he said.
On the other hand, Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee, All Manipur Ethnical Socio Cultural Organisation, Federation of Civil Society Organisation (FOCS), All Manipur Democratic Students' Organisation (AMDSO), Urup Khunou Youth Club and Pangal Tem Manipur extended Id-ul-Zuha greetings to followers of Islam and Meitei Pangal community.
In separate releases, they prayed for restoration of peace, communal harmony and development in the state.
On the occasion of Id-ul-Zuha, they urged to celebrate the day with gratitude and togetherness, remembering the spirit of sacrifice and compassion that this festival embodies.
While praying for restoration of harmony and stability in Manipur, they wished that the festival bring an end to the suffering and pave way for a brighter and more harmonious future.
All Manipur Meitei Pangal Clubs' Organisation (AMMPACO) and United Meitei-Pangal Committee Manipur in separate releases wished the people on the occasion of Id-Ul-Zuha and prayed for harmony and prosperity.
United Meitei-Pangal Committee urged the people to refrain from sharing im ages or videos of butchering of animals on social media or other public platform in the interest of maintaining the sanctity of the occasion and respecting the sensitivities of all community members.
Moreover, AMMPACO head office also distributed edible items to the people irrespective of religion on the occasion of Id-Ul-Zuha.
