CRPF strengthens civic infrastructure in Kangpokpi and Tamenglong

Kangpokpi/Tamenglong, February 16 2026: In a continued effort to support community development and strengthen civic infrastructure, two battalions of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) carried out separate Civic Action Programmes (CAPs) in Kangpokpi and Tamenglong districts.

At Kangpokpi, the 112 Battalion of CRPF on Monday organised a Civic Action Programme at Oasis College under the aegis of the IG Manipur and Nagaland Sector.

The initiative aimed at enhancing educational infrastructure and reaffirming the force's commitment to community engagement and nation-building beyond its primary security mandate.

The event witnessed the presence of key dignitaries including Rajendra Prasad Raiger, Deputy Commandant (QM-MTO); TS Baite, Assistant Commandant (Adjutant); Helun Hangsing, College Management Secretary; Mangkholet Haokip, College Management Finance Secretary; Principal Thangminlal Kipgen; Vice Principal Dr.Hohoi Sitlhou; and Inspector/GD Santosh Dongre, Coy Commander (A Coy, 112 BN).

Faculty members, staff, and a large gathering of students attended the programme, marking it as a moment of solidarity between the security forces and the academic community.

As part of the initiative, essential utility items including Solar Lights and a Water Storage Tank (Syntax) were distributed to the institution.

The items were formally handed over to the Principal by Rajendra Prasad Raiger on behalf of die Commandant 112 BN CRPF.

The gesture is expected to significantly improve campus infrastructure, particularly in ensuring sustainable lighting solutions and addressing water storage requirements-two critical components for smooth academic functioning.

The Civic Action Programme once again underscored the CRPF's role not just as guardians of security, but as active partners in community development- standing shoulder to shoulder with educational institutions in their pursuit of progress and stability.

Meanwhile, in Tamenglong district, the 143 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) conducted a Civic Action Programme (CAP) at Azuram village in Tamenglong district on Sunday, under its ongoing community outreach initiatives.

As part of the programme, a 2 KVA solar inverter was installed and formally handed over to the villagers.

The inverter was handed over by INSP/GD Mukud Sudhakar of F/184 Bn in the presence of village leaders, including Sarpanch Namsulin Kahemi; chairman of the Village Authority Meitholin Riamei; secretary of the Village Authority Obed Panmei; Pastor of ABC, Abraham Panmei; and other members of the village authority and residents.

The villagers of Azuram welcomed the initiative with appreciation and thanked the 143 Bn CRPF for extending support to the community.

They expressed hope that such initiatives would continue in the future to strengthen cooperation and development in the area.
