MJC calls off bandh

Moirang, April 15 2026:
The Moirang Joint Committee, an apex body comprising KEMKAL, AMAC, MAMPIL, and ANUL, has announced the withdrawal of the ongoing bandh imposed in Moirang in connection with the April 7 Tronglaobi incident.
In a press release, the committee stated that the decision to call off the bandh was taken in consideration of the difficulties and hardships faced by the general public during the period of enforcement.
However, the committee clarified that the economic blockade initiated by the people will continue as part of the ongoing agitation.
As part of the revised arrangement, the committee has permitted markets and shops to operate from early morning until 11 am .
It has appealed to all shopkeepers and business establishments to strictly shut down their operations after the stipulated time.
