Imphal, January 15 2026: Officials from the Imphal West Deputy Commissioner's office, Traffic Police Imphal West, Transport Department and the Public Works Department, along with representatives of Uripok Apunba Lup and Uripok Nupi Apunba Lup, carried out a joint survey, inspection and public awareness drive along the Uripok Kangchup Road.

As per a press release, the exercise was conducted with the objective of preventing traffic congestion, ensuring smooth vehicular movement and maintaining proper road width along the busy stretch.

During the drive, issues related to encroachment, improper use of road space and traffic discipline were reviewed.

The inspection team also interacted with the public to create awareness on road safety norms and the importance of keeping the roadway free from obstructions.

The aim of today's initiative was to strengthen coordination between Government departments and local civil bodies to improve traffic management and ensure uninterrupted movement of vehicles along the Uripok Kangchup Road.
