Indian Army commemorates Vijay Diwas with youth-centric activities

Bishnupur, December 13 2025: In remembrance of the Nation's victory in the 1971 Indo-Pak War and to honour the unwavering valour of the Indian Armed Forces, the Indian Army organised a series of community-engagement events at Okshongbung, Moirang on the occasion of Vijay Diwas.

According to a statement, the commemorative function held from 11 am to 1 pm commenced with a quiz competition for schoolchildren designed to instill National pride and enhance awareness of India's military history.

Young participants enthusiastically showcased their knowledge, reflecting the growing spirit of patriotism among the region's youth.

A screening of the Op Sindoor video followed, providing attendees with deeper insight into the bravery, professionalism, and operational commitment of the Indian Army.

The visual presentation evoked admiration and respect, especially among the younger audience.

A key highlight of the programme was the interaction with Ex-Servicemen (ESM), whose lived experiences, sacrifices, and inspiring anecdotes created a profound impact on all present.

Their presence reaffirmed the importance of honouring veterans and preserving their stories for future generations.

War veterans and wards of Ex-Servicemen were also felicitated during the programme as a mark of respect for their sacrifices and invaluable contribution to the Nation.

The celebration concluded with tea and snacks, fostering camaraderie and strengthening the bond between the Army and the local community.

The commemorative events aimed to inspire the local youth, strengthen civil-military bonds, and pay tribute to the enduring legacy of India's soldiers, concluded the statement.
