Assam Rifles intensifies TB awareness campaign across Manipur, honours nurses

Continuing its efforts towards public health awareness and community welfare, the Assam Rifles on Tuesday organised a series of programmes across Tengnoupal, Kakching and Chandel districts as part of the nationwide 'TB Mukt Bharat' mission.
According to a press release issued by IGAR (South), the initiatives were conducted at Moreh in Tengnoupal district, Kakching district and Sehlon in Chandel district, engaging around 375 participants, including troops, medical staff and 200 students alongside their teachers from the Assam Rifles Public School, Kakching.
Medical officers provided comprehensive guidance on early diagnostic indicators, the importance of completing treatment protocols to prevent drug resistance and the vital role of personal hygiene in curbing transmission.
The campaign aimed to strengthen public participation in the national TB eradication mission by involving youth and communities in border and remote areas.
In addition, the Assam Rifles also celebrated International Nurses Day at Moreh Hospital in Tengnoupal district to recognise the contribution of frontline healthcare workers.
During the programme, civil nurses and medical staff were felicitated for their dedicated service, particularly in difficult and remote areas of the Northeast.
The Assam Rifles stated that such initiatives are intended to promote social harmony, strengthen civil-military relations and encourage holistic well-being among the people.
