Governor assures all-out efforts to restore peace

Expressing concern over suffering of the people amid the on-going crisis along with conveying that both the Central and state governments including the Prime Minister and the union home minister are well aware about the hardships, Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya has assured of making all-out efforts to resolve the crisis and restore peace.
He gave the assurance while interacting with displaced people during his visit to the Old Mini Secretariat Complex relief camp located near Loukoipat in Bishnupur district on Monday on his way back from Churachandpur.
Bishnupur DC and SP, and IGP Nishitkumar accompanied the Governor during his visit to the relief camp.
While interacting with the Governor, some of the displaced persons informed that total of 3.20 people including women and children, all dislodged from Churachandpur district are putting up in the relief camp for the last 15 months.
They have been enduring immense hardships in terms of ensuring proper study of their children, proper living space, and jobs among others.
Most importantly, their miserable conditions get aggravated as and when someone from their families develop health issues as they could not afford treatment.
Moreover, personal space is another issue they face in the relief camp with no privacy at all.
As almost all are suffering physical and mental stress, they wish that the government take up necessary measures to facilitate return to their original home and rebuild their lives in a safe and secured environment, the camp residents confided while hastening to add that they could not envision bright future for their children in the relief camp.
The IDPs also submitted a memorandum to the Governor listing their grievances and appealing for solution.
Talking to the IDPs, the Governor informed that steps to restore complete peace and normalcy have already been initiated with support of the Centre.
Noting pain and sorrow the IDPs are passing through, he assured his best to restore peace and harmony in the state while stressing the importance for all to contribute their mite for peaceful coexistence and promote brotherhood among the communities.
Lakshman Acharya also inspected the facilities and amenities provided to the IDPs and directed the district administration to extend fullest cooperation in reaching out and providing support to the IDPs.
He distributed study materials, drinking water and chocolates to the children in the relief camp.
