Lilong HSS launches "Exchange of Acts and Thoughts" programme

Imphal, July 11 2026:
Lilong Higher Secondary School today launched "Exchange of Acts & Thoughts", a new monthly interactive programme to be held on every second Saturday.
The initiative aims to bring teachers, students and resource persons from diverse fields together for open discussion and learning beyond textbooks.
Former Member, Manipur Human Rights Commission, Ngangbam Nongyai graced the event as chief guest.
In his address, Nongyai said a school is the foundation that shapes the character of future citizens and is an industry that produces capable professionals for various fields.
He urged students to take up social responsibilities and highlighted what they should do and avoid in life to become responsible citizens.
Guest of honour, M Nilchandra, former president, All Manipur Bar Association, stressed the importance of moral education and said instilling values from a young age is crucial to build good human beings.
He also shared several thought-provoking points to inspire students.

Principal Dr N Shanta said the programme provides a platform for students, teachers and experts to share ideas, acts and thoughts, and to improve the quality of teaching-learning.
She noted that apart from textbooks, syllabus and exams, understanding social, environmental and economic issues in our surroundings is equally important, which is why such programmes are being organised.
Vice-Principal L Padmabati and other faculty members also attended the inaugural session.
