Parleys on district rollback demand resume today

Senapati, October 10 2024:
The tripartite talk consisting of the central government (MHA), state government and representatives of the United Naga Council (UNC) over objection against creation of new districts will resume on Friday in New Delhi.
MHA advisor (North East) AK Mishra intimated president of UNC for resuming the talk on October 11, while urging to make it convenient to attend the meeting along with his team.
Ak Mishra will lead the central team in the talk while either a cabinet minister or an MLA could head the delegation of government of Manipur, likely to have state's chief secretary and the DGP as well.
The United Naga Council team comprises its president Ng Lorho, general secretary Vareiyo Shatsang, Working Committee convenor Samson Riamei, secretary AC Thotso, former president KS Paul Leo, Naga Women's Union president Priscilla Thiumai and All Naga Students' Association, Manipur president Luikang Luckson.
Mention may be made that 10 rounds of the tripartite talk were held at Senapati district headquarters over the issue in the past with the last held on March 9, 2019 .
