Tapasya stages 'Maibi Kanglei Thokpa'

Imphal, June 07 2026: Artists of Tapasya today presented "Maibi Kanglei Thokpa", a segment of Lai Haraoba, at Singjamei Wangma Pebia Pandit Leikai Community Hall.

The production was staged under the Ministry of Culture's Cultural Function and Production Grant Scheme.

Vice president Y Sarita said the performance followed a 45-day workshop held from April 20 to June 5.She noted the production seeks to preserve Lai Haraoba traditions and share its underlying philosophy with the public.

"Lai Haraoba is not merely ritual dance; it embodies social, family, agricultural, household, and moral codes", she said, urging collective efforts to safeguard the ancestral heritage for future generations.
