Imphal, October 06 2025: Reacting to the news report published in India Today, NE on September 26, 2025 and later by some sections of local media which alleged that Manipur Legislative Assembly had withdrawn a huge sum of money amounting to Rs 29 crore, the Assembly Secretariat has once again clarified that after a thorough examination the allegation was found to be totally false as there had been no such withdrawal as claimed by the newsreports/statements.

The reports/statements also failed to seek clarification from Manipur Legislative Assembly Secretariat prior to publication resulting in distorted narrative and thereby misleading the general public, said a press release issued by N Robindro Singh, Deputy Director and Officer-in-charge of Protocol and Media Relation, Manipur Legislative Assembly.
