Assam Rifles fosters youth ambition and community wellness in Manipur

Assam Rifles continued its commitment to community outreach and regional development through dual initiatives aimed at youth empowerment and public health across Manipur on April 6, 2026.According to a release issued by the IGAR (South), the programmes, held in Churachandpur and Chandel districts, sought to inspire local residents while strengthening the bond between the forces and the community.
In Churachandpur, a comprehensive career guidance and counselling session was organised at The Dawn School by the Veng-based unit.
The session provided an indepth orientation on diverse career opportunities and the various avenues for joining the Indian Armed Forces.
Students received detailed information on entry schemes, eligibility criteria and training pathways.
By highlighting the values of leadership, discipline and the honour associated with the uniform, the event aimed to ignite ambition and provide a clear purpose for the future.
A total of 198 students participated with keen interest, gaining a practical understanding of career planning and the military ethos.
Furthering the spirit of community well-being, a mass yoga session was conducted at Aibol Joupi in Chandel district.
This initiative focused on promoting physical fitness and mental health through basic yoga practices and breathing exercises.
Under the guidance of a trained instructor, 44 villagers, including men, women and children, engaged in the session to adopt a healthier lifestyle.
A collective of officials and troops ensured the successful conduct of these events, which promoted national pride and holistic health.
These interactions continue to foster a sense of cooperation and trust between the security forces and the local population in remote border areas.
