Aid extended to flood-hit people

Many continue to reach out to people affected by the recent flood with provisions of essential items.
In a release, All Manipur United Clubs' Organisation (AMUCO) informed that in continuation of its humanitarian service to those impacted by the natural disaster, a team distributed rice, pulses and edible oil among others to the marooned residents of Nagaram, Tangkhul Avenue, Namdalong and Gaipuinam localities through the respective village authorities and local clubs.
Kanglei Huiyen Lanmee and COCOMI also provided potable water and medicines to the flood-affected people of Lamphel area.
They also dredged the drains using excavator (JCB) to drain out water from low-lying flooded areas.
Noting that Lamphel area often faces flooding every monsoon season, the two organisations assured of exerting pressure on the department concerned to chalk out plan to prevent flooding.
