CRPF's Civic Action Programme continues

As part of its ongoing Civic Action Programme, 69 Battalion CRPF, Mantripukhri under the aegis of Manipur & Nagaland Sector CRPF constructed toilet blocks at Thanil Academy Awang Sekmai today.
As per a release issued by CRPF, the initiative aimed to provide infrastructural support to schools that nurture and guide future pillars.
Speaking at the event, SA Rojan Zimik, Commandant of 69 Bn CRPF, said that the battalion remains committed to fostering goodwill and cooperation with local communities.
He emphasized that Thanil Academy Awang Sekmai was the brainchild of Late Maharambam Prabo Singh, 2I/C (26 Bn CRPF) and the founder of the school to impart benchmark education facilities to the unprivileged rural children.
He also expressed happiness that CRPF could contribute something to the growth of the school.
Maharambam Aeliza, wife of Late M Prabo Singh graced the occasion as the guest of honour and inaugurated the newly constructed toilet blocks.
Social activist Kh Rakesh and Thanil Academy's Principal Gangmei Meikinthuipou along with staff, parents and students were also present at the event.
169 BATTALION
169 Battalion CRPF also conducted a Civic Action Programme (CAP) 2025-2026 at G/169 Bn, CRPF Location, Police OP Leitanpokpi and F/169 Bn, CRPF Location, Chanung in Imphal East district today.
During the programme, hand weaving machines were distributed to 7 families of Leithanpokpi village, sports items to Sports Club Leithanpokpi and 7 sewing machines for the residents of Chanung village.
The event was attended by Md Yasser Abbasi, 2-I/C Commandant (AOL)-169 Bn, CRPF; Ranjan, SDC Sagolmang; village president, village secretary, women secretary and SHO Police Station Sagolamang.
At the event, representatives of 169 Bn CRPF highlighted the importance of community outreach programmes in fostering trust, cooperation and mutual understanding between security forces and the local populace.
They reiterated the Battalion commitment toward supporting developmental needs and improving the quality of life in remote areas.
120 BATTALION
120 Battalion CRPF under the aegis of Manipur & Nagaland Sector organised a tailoring training Programme along with the distribution of sewing machines for widows and economically disadvantaged women on Thursday.
The initiative, conducted under the Civic Action Programme, was aimed at fostering empowerment, skill development, self-reliance, and community bonding.
Speaking on the occasion as the chief guest, H Premjit Meetei, DIGP, CRPF, Imphal Range, highlighted the responsibility of CRPF as the largest paramilitary force in the world.
He emphasized that the Force has been relentlessly working to uphold peace and security across the nation, particularly in Manipur.
"Achieving lasting peace is not possible without the active participation and support of citizens", he noted.
He further stated that as part of CRPF's commitment to strengthening its relationship with the public, the battalion has undertaken this initiative to enhance the economic status of underprivileged women.
"By equipping them with tailoring skills and providing sewing machines, CRPF aims to create sustainable livelihood opportunities and contribute meaningfully to society", he added.
The event was attended by Rajeev Lochan, Commandant, 120 Bn CRPF; Manish Raman, 2ic, 120 Bn CRPF; Thaja Devi, Caretaker Chairperson, Lamsang Municipal Council; Insp Sanjoy Singh, OC Lamsang Police Station and womenfolk of Taothong Village.
