Kakching, June 01 2026:
The Students' Union of Kakching Higher Secondary School has suspended the agitation it had launched against the transfer of the school's principal and announced that normal classes will resume from tomorrow.
The students had been staging continuous protests since May 22 following an order issued by the Education (S) Department on May 21 transferring the principal of the school.
Speaking to the media, Magazine Secretary of the Students' Union, Moirangthem Googal, said the decision to suspend the agitation was taken after a series of discussions with the concerned authorities.
He stated that assurances from the authorities regarding the extension of the principal's tenure at the school prompted the students to immediately call off the protest.
Googal also expressed gratitude to Wabagai AC MLA Usham Deben, various civil society organisations of Kakching, and the parents and guardians of the students for extending support to the students' movement and helping in pursuing their demands.
