Senapati, April 30 2025:
United Naga Council (UNC) has expressed deep concern over proliferation of numerous Naga organisations claiming to represent the Naga community.
"These organisations, often formed with vested interests are creating confusion and undermining the unity and solidarity of the Nagas," UNC said in a statement.
According to the statement, 'any meeting or decision in the name of Naga organisations other than the United Naga Council does not hold water and does not carry the aspirations and shared opinion of the Nagas' .
Reflecting the will and unity of the Naga community, UNC urged all Nagas to reject any attempt by self-styled organisations to sabotage and hijack 'our collective voice and interest' .
Asserting that it remains committed to safeguarding the rights over Nagas' land, history, identity and culture, UNC, called upon all stakeholders to be on guard so that Nagas are not swayed away by rumour and cheap gossip.
