Govindas urges central aid to infra projects

Works minister Govindas Konthoujam has urged Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to aid two projects that are to be implemented in the state on Tuesday.
In a social media post, Govindas shared that he had a detailed discussion with Union Finance Minister Sitharaman regarding two major projects planned for Manipur.
The projects are Imphal Ring Road Project, funded by Asian Development Bank (ADB) and Manipur Infotech-Enabled Development Project, which will receive funding from the World Bank.
The Finance Minister assured that she would provide all necessary support for these initiatives, he said.
Chief minister N Biren Singh had previously announced that the 57.23 km long Imphal Ring Road Project would be undertaken with ADB support at an estimated cost of Rs 1766 crore out of which ADB contribute Rs 1374 crore, with the remaining to be borne by the state government.
The objective of the Manipur Infotech Enabled Development Project for India is to promote digital skills and entrepreneurship, enhance access to broadband in project areas, and secure the foundations for digital government in Manipur.
There are four components of the project, the first being digital industry, skills, and jobs.
The second component is the broadband connectivity, access, and use.
The third component is the foundations of digital government.
While the fourth component is the project management and coordination.
