Imphal, October 30 2025: The results of the Irengbam Chaoren Memorial Essay Writing Competition 2025 held on October 12 have been announced today.

The competition was organised as a part of the 68th birth anniversary celebration of Irengbam Chaoren.

The competition was held in two categories on the theme "Political Status of Manipur, 1947-1949".Around 1,500 students of different schools and colleges participated in the competition, held in two centres.

In category A (Class VIII to X), Elangbam Langlen Chanu (Class IX) of Eureka Academy; Arambam Etheel (Class VIII) of Nirmalabas High School and Elangbam Dhanista (Class VIII) of Pole Star School bagged the 1 st, 2nd and 3rd slots respectively.

Meanwhile, in category B (Class XI and above), Irabanta Kshetrimayum of Manipur University (MA History Pass Out); Mutum Yaithoiba Meetei MA History, Manipur University and Sapam Langlensana Chanu (Class XII) of Standard Robarth Hr Sec School were declared as the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize winners respectively.

Additionally, many students were also announced as consolation prize winners in both categories.

The prizes for the competition will be distributed on November 2 at the auditorium of the Manipur University.
