Bishnupur, August 30 2025: As part of the PM SHRI School Bagless Day initiative, the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV Bishnupur) organized a one-day lecture-cum-demonstration on the historic art form Khongjom Parva on Friday.

The event was aimed at conserving and promoting the fading popularity of Khongjom Parva by integrating it into the academic environment, thereby instilling among young students a sense of history, patriotism, and cultural pride.

Delivering a lecture on the thematic significance of the art form, Dr A Birajit, Librarian of JNV Bishnupur, highlighted the invaluable contribution of Khongjom Parva to Manipuri society.

He emphasized the role of this traditional art form in preserving the spirit of the kingdom's history and cultural identity.

The second half of the programme featured a live demonstration by AIR-approved artist Thokchom Budha Singh, who captivated the audience with an engaging performance based on the episode of Khongjom War and Thoibi Loi Kumba.
