Protest held in support of "education free zone demand"

Imphal, July 30 2024: In support of the Co-ordinating Committee on Disturbance Free Educational Zone Demand, All Manipur Elementary School Teachers' Association Zone 2 staged a protest at Imphal East ZEO Zone 2, Porompat against unbearable monetary and material demands on educational institutes.

Speaking by the sideline of the protest, Abdul Latif, secretary.

All Manipur Elementary School Teachers' Association Zone 2 said that since violence erupted in the State on May 3 last year, teachers under Imphal East ZEO Zone 2 have been subjected to various exorbitant monetary and material demands.

Calling for an "education free zone", he appealed to organisations of any kind to stop imposing such demands on schools and teachers who are "human resources" necessary to mould the future generation.
