Irabot Ningshing Thouram inaugural function deferred to Sept 2

Imphal, August 29 2026: The inaugural function of the 130th birth anniversary observance of Lamyanba Hijam Irabot, which was scheduled on September 1 at Tentha Multiplex Hall under the theme "Farmers' Demand Day and Save Manipur Save Humanity", has been deferred to September 2 in view of the general strike called on September 1.The observance is being organised every year by Irabot Celebration Committee, Manipur in association with Manipur Loumi Lup.

The Committee has also been demanding implementation of Census and identification of immigrants.

All local celebration committee members have been asked to attend the inaugural function on September 2 at 1 pm .

The observance will be held as "Fanners' Demand Day" with a rally to press for farmers' demands.

Farmers will attend wearing their traditional attire.
