Solidarity in uniform: 2006 MR batch supports family of deceased Rifleman

Imphal, May 28 2026: Inamoving gesture of solidarity, the 2006 batch of the 2nd Manipur Rifles (MR) extended financial assistance to the bereaved family of their late colleague, Ahongsangbam Asokchand.

Asokchand tragically passed away due to a sudden illness while deployed on active duty in Ukhrul District.

To support his grieving family, a representative team of the 2006 MR batch visited Asokchand's residence at Khongman Zone 2 today and personally handed over the monetary aid.

Speaking on behalf of the batch, MR personnel Sapam Jimmy highlighted that the 2006 batch has a longstanding tradition of stepping forward to support colleagues and their families during times of illness, distress, or tragedy.

He further assured that the batch remains committed to providing all possible assistance to the late personnel's family in the future, with a special focus on the welfare and education of his children.
