Maheshwar against inviting Kuki MLAs

Imphal, July 27 2024: Why should the 10 Kuki MLAs are openly working to break apart Manipur be invited to attend the upcoming state assembly session, questioned RPI (Athawale) national general secretary Maheshwar Thounaojam.

In a video clip released to media on Saturday, Maheshwar Thounaojam said that legal action needs to be taken up against all the Kuki MLAs and the two Kuki ministers should also be removed from their ministerial posts as per Article 164 (2) of Indian Constitution.

However, two Kuki ministers are still in the cabinet, he said and questioned as to why they have not been removed.

According to Maheshwar Thounaojam, political leaders must stop doing unnecessary things and concentrate on resolving the crisis to end suffering of the people.

Now is not the time to hurl accusations and take political mileage but to work collectively, he said and appealed to political leaders to concentrate on saving Manipur.
